Doom Publishing Company was begun in August of 1999 when two aspiring creators brought Poor Bystander Man to the attention of Ellinghouse Publishing in Chaffee, MO. Poor Bystander Man gained national attention very quickly and within two months became the best selling Title in the history of comic books. The creators, Clark Kent and Steve Rogers, decided to buy Ellinghouse Publishing and renamed it Doom Publishing Co. Doom is now the second largest publishing company ever. Being beaten only by The Great Publishing Corporations of Ursa Minor. The sole reason they are still number one is due to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Which sells better because of two reasons: It is slightly cheaper and it has the words DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover. Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter, who moonlighted as an aspiring writer, found his true calling when he and free-lance artist Steve Rogers created Poor Bystander Man. Rogers and Kent had been friends for some time, since riding the school bus together. They had wanted to break into the comics field, and did so when Ellinghouse Publishing went out on a limb and agreed to publish Poor Bystander Man. |
